Why IMPORT crops to Jamaica? Let's visit TOMATO FARM in JAMAICA and learn more about farming in Jamaica with the help of Radical Farms in St.Mary, Jamaica. ► Support us on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/jamaicawithirie ► Radical Farms Tomatoes Radical Farms tomatoes can be bought at Progressive Foods supermarkets in Kingston, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. If you ever wanted to do farming in Jamaica this video is certainly a must watch. I've heard from some locals that agriculture should be the main industry in Jamaica, but all of us can see imported fruits and vegetables both in supermarkets and market places. Why? Why not just sell local goods to support local farmers. To answer this question, we're making a set of videos about farming in Jamaica to cover the strong sides and some of the challenges. JAMAICA FARMING series begins with Tomatoes at Radical Farms. 🔴 CHAPTERS 🔴 00:00 Introduction 02:26 Tomato Farming in Jamaica 07:27 Production and Technology 12:43 Farming and Challenges 14:44 Greenhouse Farming 17:30 Why Import Crops? 20:13 Farm and Maintenance 23:25 Building the Demand 25:17 Harvest and Distribution 🔴 REFERENCES 🔴 ► FAO https://www.fao.org/statistics/en/ ► MOA https://www.moa.gov.jm/document-categories/pests-and-disease-management ► types of tomatoes (a few examples) https://www.homestratosphere.com/types-of-tomatoes/ ► more about greenhouse garming in Jamaica https://rada.gov.jm/sites/default/files/annual_reports/Annual_Report_2009-2010.pdf ==== Stay in touch ==== Stay in Jamaica with me https://www.airbnb.com/p/irielab Faceboook: https://www.facebook.com/jamaicawithirie Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/irina.bruce

@patrickthompson97192 years ago Awesome. Just. Really. Awesome!
i had been doing something else, and had started watching idly, just to get my mind off my other chore that i was in fact, i honestly almost switched to something else. For i thought, what could be so interesting about growing some tomatoes in jamaica?
but the next thing i know, im rooted to the screen and couldnt tear my eyes and my mind away, while my other chore got totally neglected.
i just would have never believed that watching tomatoes being grown in jamaica could be anything like this - so truly very interesting and riveting.
by the end, im was like: wow. Wow!
    im floored
