@slayervision24844 years agoSeason 4 is my favorite after 3. It has problems but the highs are so high that they outweigh the lows for me. 10

@lunaloutfy4 years agoDid I sit and watch the entirety of Liam’s 3 hour review of Angel’s third season? HELL YES. Do I regret it? HELL NO. Also, don’t worry about it being too long. We love listening to your thoughts and opinions and predictions! Can’t wait for what you post next, but of course, take your time :) - Luna ❤️ ...15

@rb50784 years agoI feel like a lot of people hate season four because of one storyline and forget about how much great stuff that season has to offer. For me, it's very nearly tied with season three as my favorite. Yes, I hate THAT story, but the rest of it is great in my opinion. I'm really curious to see how Liam feels about it. ...15
@
@cottagepie14 years agoAngel season 3 established itself properly, you can really enjoy it without thinking about Buffy at all 15

@isabellastrickland52574 years agoThanks so much for such a long and in-depth video! I agree with your comments. Season 3 of Angel is definitely one of my favorites because of it’s constant quality content. It is definitely one of the most consistently good seasons. I’m glad you enjoyed watching it so much! ...5
@
@jjpe3064 years agoDon't let people influence you about S4. Not everybody hates it. Personally it's tied for my favorite season with season 2. It has some flaws, mostly stemming from BTS drama, but it is an amazingly intricate and engaging season. ...15

@UatuOmega4 years agoThat smile at the beginning! You knew you were going to surpass 3 hours before you even started. 😉 5
@
@Jontor114 years agoWhat a fantastic review, Liam! Loved it! It will be so much fun to see your reactions for S4 and whether or not your predictions are true or not ;-). For me, every season of Angel is better than the previous one, so season 4 will be the best so far, and then they will top it all off with a brilliant season 5. ...4

@TheRaventwilight4 years agoYes the 3 hour mark! My day is made. 😍👏 Thanks for always being insightful. (And the bookmarks. 😉) Wonderful review! It seems like a mountain of work to do but a work of love. 🥰🤓 4

@angelus17384 years agoMan, I don't know why people's favorites on Angel always surprise me. With Buffy, it's much more obvious which will be the favorites of the season (Hush, The Body, OMWF). With Angel, though, I'm always surprised since the episodes that tend to win usually aren't my favorites. I didn't care for "Are You Now or Have You Ever Been" last season or "Waiting in the Wings" this season, but apparently they're really popular. ...6

@spaceychase62564 years agoI’m really interested to see your thoughts on season 4, don’t let people influence you too much cos it can be quite hated but I think it does some of the best stuff of the show 5
@
@lessthanevil4 years agoAngel acting out of character before Wesley kidnaps him is explained in the show. W&H are mixing Connor’s blood (which they stole from the hospital) into Angel’s pigs blood. 2

@faureamour4 years agoThis is epic. I've never been around for one of your season reviews. I like it! I'm anxious for your thoughts on season 4. I personally love that season, but I also love season 6 Buffy, so take my opinion as you will. ...4

@April77394 years agoThis is as long as Titanic. 😂 Love that for you. And for us. You always amaze me with the depth of analysis you’re able to provide even as a first time viewer. I really enjoy hearing what you think, so thank you for taking the time to film these for us. Onward to season 4. All I’ll say, since you’ve already heard some things, is that, whether one loves it or hates it, it is INTENSE. ...1

@
@jeanetteking4344 years agoI can’t suspend my disbelief over Cordelia going away, Angel not calling her, and then her not checking on Wesley when she gets back. I can’t even watch these episodes because to me that’s not Cordelia. They all act out of character. ...5
@
@partycitydumpster4 years agoI feel very torn between Buffy s6 and Angel s3, but Angel s3 is definitely easier to watch. Some people may not like baby Connor, but his presence isn't quite as contentious as... basically everything in Buffy s6 is. ...5

@patrickb14394 years agoPlease don't think I'm one of the people complaining 'bout ur schedule ( cuz I'm not, I love ur vids) , but I CAN'T WAIT til you get to Buffy S7 & the next season of Angel.... it's personally one of my FAVORITE years 😁 ...2

@dutchkel4 years agoYou're getting hate for disliking the trio? I don't like them either but honestly when I think back in s6 I don't think about them much so maybe I try and block them out LOL. 11
@
@rlr644last yearI’m just starting this video and wow over 3 hours. I love how In depth and detailed you are about the show (also Buffy). Thank you!
@
@erikohman22944 years agoI think relating to the past and owning it is a very important theme of the show. In the very first scene of the pilot Angel talks about his past in an almost nostalgic manner. He is essentally daydreaming about his time with Buffy. If Buffy is a show about growing up and owning who you are becoming, Angel is about being a grown up and owning who you used to be. ...

@lillimarq4 years agoThank you for being my audiobook for 3 hours at work now. XD I only watched s4 once and I shudder to think about it, however maybe nowadays I would like it more? Who knows. I do adore s5 though. I'm sad you're not enjoying Buffy as much this season and interactions though. As much as Angel is great Buffy will always be my fave, and S6 while brutal and not very popular, was so important for me when I myself was going through depression. Hope Buffy watching and the fandom will tread you well going forward. :) ...1

@samanthas83404 years agoFor me I always get more nervous about reactors starting Angel season 4 that any other Buffyverse seasons. As long as I am reassured the reactor with stick through it, then I feel better. I think this is why there are so many comments regarding opinions on this season. As for the Trio - I think people are entitled to not like the trio in season 6 however I feel like a re-watch of the season is needed before solidifying an opinion. At least for me person I had learned to appreciate their role in the show over time. But, initially like many others I did hate them and found the plot unnecessary/unrealistic etc. that being said maybe there are fans who've rewatched it plenty and still hate them 🤷♀️ ...2

@sarahharvey17254 years agoThanks for taking the time to do this Liam ❤ Jealous you get to watch these shows for the first time. Just wanted to share something that blew my mind (unrelated to S3 and spoiler free). The actor who played creepy Ronald in S1 in "I Fall to Pieces" also plays D'Hoffryn in Buffy. 20 odd years on and I'm still learning new things about the Buffyverse. ...

@jychilly4 years agoI like what you said about Fred kicking puppies. It's like Dark Willow. Even when she skinned Warren alive, she was still kind of a cinnamon roll. 2
@
@NicoAngelus4 years agoThe hate for season 4 seems very unjustified to me. People seem to only remember one bad storyline, but season 4 offers many of the coolest moments the show ever had. It's problematic, like Buffy season 6 is, but it's still a strong season. Can't wait to see what you think :) ...9

@
@Shoofyou104 years agoI don't hate season 4. There is one storyline/moment that is universally hated, that I do also hate along with everyone else. But too many people can't get over that one moment and let it cloud their opinion of the whole season and they miss out on a ton of good storylines and things going on around that one terrible moment. My advice to you is to try to concentrate on the good stuff rather than the one bad thing. I'm trying to be vague but you will know it when you see it. ...2

@padawansound64234 years agoI think the main interest in Justine's character is not her motivation for revenge, but what she represents in relation to Holtz. Holtz is, unequivocally, her abuser. He manipulates her, controls her, uses her emotionally (and, it is implied, sexually) and inflicts violence upon her. Justine is an angry, vulnerable woman, and Holtz completely grooms her into submission. It's a classic abuser/survivor dynamic, and I think his treatment of Justine is one of the reasons I have no hesitation calling him a villain. He has so much power over her, and abuses it to achieve what he needs to. His treatment of Angel is arguably justified, his treatment of Justine is not. However, I do agree with you, I feel like they definitely could have explored that dynamic, and its effects on Justine, more. ...1

@Canucklehead12344 years agoGood luck for when you start season 4. You'll definitely need it (and loads of patience). 2
@
@Brandyalla4 years agoI didn't vote. but my top three are Lullaby, Birthday, and Waiting in the Wings. Congrats, Liam, you just nailed every single prediction for season 4. Has that ever happened? Personally, I like most of the individual episodes, but the arc as a whole doesn't agree with me ...1

@Swenglish4 years agoHow did you predict the "Fred kills a bunch of puppies" storyline?
@
@BronoTrigger4 years agowhy didn't anyone at Angel Investigations think about using the spell that "cursed" Angel with his soul to give Darla her soul back? then she could've stuck around and been Connor's mom. in fact, why don't they do this more often with any vamp who's giving them trouble? it's not like the actual spell was specific to Angel himself. obviously i know from a writing perspective, that wouldn't work because then Angel wouldn't be special, and from a viewers perspective Darla's sacrifice is so powerful and emotional that i wouldn't want to take that away from her. but each time i come back to this season, it bothers me just a little more lol. ...

@EmoBearRights4 years agoGio is close to being the worst....but Warren takes the biscuit. 1
@
@Shoofyou104 years agoI do not like the character of Justine at all but the original concept for the character is that it would Detective Kate as the character that Holtz recruits to help her get vengeance on Angel, but the actress had other commitments and couldn't do it. So they re-wrote it to be a new character. I feel like if it was Kate that the character and storyline would have been much more impactful. So that's kind of a shame. ...
@
@Amanda-kd1zr4 years agoWhat a great review! Season three is AMAZING in my opinion, in fact season 2 & 3 are practically tied for my favorite. Also, Cordy and Angel are my favorite ship in the Buffyverse <3. Season 4 is my least favorite, without saying anything about the main storyline, I would say a problem-- one of the many problems, is how unnatural and weird a lot of the dialogue throughout the season is. HOWEVER, it had so much potential (and some admittedly cool stuff)...I am excited to see you react to it though because it's interesting seeing people figure it out for the first time. Power through and have fun, lol! ...
@
@russellward46244 years agoYea S03 of Angle is the second best season of Angel for me, behind S05., and a little more enjoyable than Buffy S06. But thats mostly down to how dark it was I think. It covered a lot so it holds up better on future watchings. ...
