Gojju avalakki is one such simple breakfast recipe prepared using crushed avalakki (Beaten rice/ poha). There are many variations to this recipe with the spice powder add to it. In this recipe I have used special masala powder which taste more delicious.
Ingredients:
Aval / Poha / Beaten rice - 2 cups
Tamarind - lemon size
Sambar powder -2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Jaggery - 1 tbsp
Coconut grated - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves few
Water - 1 to 1 1/4 cups (depends upon the poha thickness)
Special Masala Powder:
Dry roast & grind.....
Channa dal - 1 tbsp
Urad dal - 1 tbsp
Groundnut- 1 tsp
Pepper whole - 10 to15
For Tempering....
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Channa dal - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Curry leaves few
