Shale Baherchi Shala - an initiative of the Government of Maharashtra & Pratham

शाळेबाहेरची शाळा or 'A school, outside a school' is Pratham's remote learning initiative in partnership with the government of Maharashtra for all districts in the state's Nagpur division. As per this initiative, parents tune in to the radio at 10:35 am every Tuesday and Friday. A task is shared through an SMS or a Whatsapp message a day earlier, on Monday and Thursday and it is revised during the broadcast. This broadcast involves a discussion of tasks for three groups - Anganwadi, Grade 1-2 and Grade 3-5. In villages where people neither own a radio, nor possess a smartphone, the broadcast happens through a loudspeaker, which is placed at a public place, for example, a temple or an Anganwadi center.
